    Description

    Civil War Officers' Large 4th Cavalry Hat Insignia.
    95 x 60-mm. A beautiful tin-back example with black wool underlay over tin backing, small silver metal number "4" above gold-embroidered crossed swords all within a single gold-wire border. The entire insignia is slightly convex. Two small wire eyelets on the reverse to facilitate mounting.

    Condition: Excellent. One wire eyelet detached, but retained for restoration.
