    Civil War Non-Regulation Staff & Field Officers Sword Marked W. Clauberg 33 3/4" bright blade with just some very minor dark staining on the ricasso, no rust, pitting or nicks. Obverse with etching for 2/3 its length including panoplies, scrolls and spread wing eagle in sunburst. The reverse bears similar motifs but including large US in the center, ricasso marked W. Clauberg Solingen. Excellent 3 branch iron hilt with edge line engraving smooth with a dark finish. Perfect sharkskin grip although missing wire, easily replaced. Scabbard smooth and dent-free with a nice gray to dark smooth patina.. Very nice untouched example of this unusual variant.
