Doubtless one of the most remarkable examples we've ever catalogued

Civil War Carte de Visite. The image bears the backmark of Tresize's New Art Gallery/ Springfield, Ill. The left side of the vignetted view shows a soldier wearing a tassled fez, overcoat, full equipment, including knapsack with blanket roll, and holding a M1842 musket with bayonet fixed. The right two thirds of the image, clearly pulled from a different negative, shows a soldier in frock coat with kepi and full equipment, holding, with one hand, press's plate, while operating, with his other hand, the field printing press. Type tray and other accessories visible in the background; the soldiers knapsack, canteen and Enfield musket, with bayonet fixed, displayed in the foreground. Overall very fine condition. Absolutely unique in our experience and a great CDV.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
