    Civil War Battlefield Recovered Sharps Carbine Butt, Canteen, and Bent Hook Bayonet. Includes: (1) Bullet-damaged U.S. Model 1858 canteen. A typed label affixed to the side of the canteen indicates: "Canteen with bullet hole. Found on the Wise Farm, Fox Gap, South Mountain, Maryland". The canteen has a large entry hole in the side at the 8 o'clock position and an exit hole on the face of the canteen. Dug condition. (2) A 15.5" length of Sharps carbine butt stock with a section of the lock. Typed paper labels mounted to each side of the stock read: "Antietam Battlefield Reno Post #4 Hagerstown, Maryland" and "Sharps butt stock found on the Antietam Battlefield near the Burnside Bridge and taken to the Rohrbach Farm...". (3) Bannerman made curved hook bayonet sconce. Excellent condition.
