    Description

    British Pattern 1842 .76 Caliber Enfield Percussion Musket 39" round barrel with British proofs and "1844 Enfield" stamped at the breech. Lock marked with "V.R." and "1847 Enfield", tight crisp action. Metal exhibits a dark undisturbed patina with scattered light pitting and heavy pitting at the breech. Brass fittings uncleaned. Wood stamped with inspectors cartouches dated 1847. Wood also with an undisturbed patina has a few long tight cracks on the butt and smaller cracks at the lock. Replaced steel ramrod.
