Battle of Lookout Mountain Folk Art Diorama. Utterly charming Civil War period framed diorama titled: "Chattanooga". It is housed in a deep shadow-box oval frame measuring 18" tall x 16" wide x 4" deep. Three Union soldiers appear on top of Lookout Mountain alongside a cannon, with the U.S. flag firmly planted behind them. Below, at the base of the mountain, a Union sentry appears next to a wagon wheel and stockade. Trees and shrubbery are strategically placed and all elements are painted realistically. Outside of some loose "greenery", it is in very good shape. The Battle of Lookout Mountain took place on November 24, 1863 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was part of a series of battles between Grant and Bragg that resulted with the routing of Bragg's army at the Battle of Missionary Ridge, thereby lifting the siege of Union forces.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
