    "W. Tranter Patent, Made For Hyde & Goodrich New Orleans", is the engraved legend covering top top of the barrel and frame of this 5 shot , .36 caliber Tranter double action percussion revolver, #11.526.6. 3" octagonal barrel, mechanically perfect, excellent bore and fine markings, Metal generally smooth and gray with just patina, no rust or pitting, and showing original bright blue on the lever, original blue mixed with hand reblue on the cylinder, and traces of case colors on the trigger mechanism. Barrel, lever, frame , trigger guard, short backstrap and butt cap, all exhibit finely executed, tight, scroll engraving. Tranter Pat. markings also on the trigger. Finely checkered one piece walnut grip excellent. An exceptionally nice example of this very scarce secondary Confederate revolver with one of the scarcer barrel/frame markings of the several that were used by Hyde & Goodrich.
