    [Repatriated South American Colony Confederate Family] Pair of Southern Family Carte de Visite Albums. Both albums owned by the Brown family of Baltimore. The first, partially filled, most identified in period pencil including Mrs Caroline Bullard Sister of General Breckenridge; Col. Otis Smith in civilian dress with Bendann Bros Baltimore backmark; Mary Breckenridge, mother of Gen'l Breckenridge; Steel engraving of Stonewall Jackson; Col. Marshall J Smith of New Orleans in civilian dress; Edward Lane wearing Confederate shell jacket, A. Constant New Orleans backmark; William Morton Brown wearing what appears to be a Confederate frock coat, no backmark, Brown served in the Virginia infantry. He was WIA Antietam & Gettysburg, POW Waterloo, Penn. July 5, 1863. Also included in the album are several Southerners who relocated to Brazil after the Civil War including the repatriated Confederate colony of Campinas, Brazil. Album binding loose and latches are missing.

    The second with inscription; "Presented to Harmon Brown by the Prisoners of the Md Penitentiary December 25 1864." Binding loose, tape on spine, partially filled with postwar CDVs including the daughters of a Confederate colonel.
