    "Piece of the Rebel Ram Merrimac," J. S. Reigart Relic. The balance of the 2½" x 3" paper label reads: "Taken out of her after she had been sunk the second time March 8th and 9th 1862" The 3¾" x 4¼"chunk of wood does not appear top be oak but is very heavy and dense. Irregularly formed on the back, it has been sawed flat on the front. Perfect condition with nice patina and a great relic from one of the most important Naval battles in history.
