    [Abraham Lincoln]: Racist Anti-Lincoln Letter. 4-page letter written in pencil on lined bifolium paper, Durham [no state], October 25, 1864 from James B. Seanny to his brother. After discussing farming matters and local gossip, he directs his attention to the upcoming presidential election with a sketch of an African American soldier who exclaims: "Atenution darkeys all. I am going for Old Abe cause he lubs me so he dose. He thinks Im better than the white man." The writer warns: "Look out for the woolly heads and be shure your name is regessted so you will not loose your vote. Dont you see that Nigger in the fence. Look out for him I say."
