    Description

Civil War: Sixth Plate Ambrotype of Identified Confederate Soldier. Studio portrait of seated Confederate soldier holding a percussion musket. He wears a kepi with an embroidered six-pointed star on the crown, along with some letters which we are unable to make out clearly. His gold-tinted belt plate may be a Louisiana design with pelican. The front cover of the detached case has a scratched inscription which appears to say: "Rollie Pope. R. W. Pope". A sticker on the back side of the case reads: "R. C. Pope Co. G 2nd Ga. Inf. 8-14-61 5-18-65". Wear to paper cover of case with a couple of light scratches on the photo.
