Civil War New Hampshire Enlisted Man's Kepi with Original 2nd Corps, 1st Division Cloth Corps Badge stitched to the crown. Fine quality blue wool body standing 2 3/4" high at the front. Small worn area at the rear of the crown and a couple of small worn holes at the left rear of the body. All minor and overall excellent, sound condition. CW period New Hampshire side buttons, adjustable tarred leather 1/2" chinstrap. Tarred, bound leather visor all about perfect. The apparently hand cut 1 7/8" X 1 3/4" red wool Corps badge is hand stitched to the front of the crown, with the stitching visible from inside the lining. Black silk lightly quilted lining in the crown perfect. Brown cotton lining and 1 3/8" brown leather sweat band both show some honest wear/use but excellent and sound. Very nice piece of Civil War Union headgear, identified to one of the most heavily fought units of the war.
