    Civil War Forage Cap Identified to Alfred P. Snyder 192nd NY. Blue wool body in fine condition, stands 4 1/2" high at the front. 1/2" leather chinstrap with brass buckle, held fast with two eagle side buttons. Leather visor with typical crazing to the tarred finish, carved into the top "192. NY" and "A.P.S." on the underside. 1 1/2" black leather sweatband showing slight service use, brown polished cotton lining complete and intact. Identified to Alfred P. Snyder who enlisted on 4/13/1865 as a private, mustered out on 5/4/1865.
