    Civil War: Confederate "State" Buttons including Alabama. 1) 23mm brass button showing "Map of Alabama", Tice AB-212-A3, back mark "Waterbury Button Co." Dug specimen with indentation on front. 2) 23 mm brass button with State Seal of Georgia, Tice GA-200-B3, moderate wear with dark patina, possibly dug. 3) 22 mm brass Louisiana button with pelican, Tice LA-223-A1. Dug, but displays well. 4) 20 mm brass button with star and letter "I" for Infantry, inscribed "Mississippi". Tice MP-215-A1. Dug, but with some remnants of the original gilding. 5) 22 mm brass button with Seal of "North Carolina", Tice 210-B1. Dark patina, possibly dug. 6) 22 mm brass one-piece button, inscribed "N C", Tice NC-242-A1, dug, lacking shank. 7) 22 mm brass button with Palmetto tree of South Carolina, Tice SC-248-A6, moderate wear, dug, dark patina. 8) 22 mm gilt brass button with lone star on lined field, back mark "Horstmann Bros & Co. Phila." 9) 22 mm gilt brass button with State Seal of Virginia, back mark of "Horstmann Bros & Co. Phila.", some tarnish. 10) 14 mm brass button with State Seal of Virginia. light verdigris, indecipherable back mark, Tice VA 222-As. 11) 15 mm brass button, with letter "I" for Infantry on a star, inscribed "Mississippi". Tice MP-210-As1. Dug with rust and some of the original gilding still present.
