    Civil War: Artillery "McDowell" Forage Cap.
    Wool forage cap with crossed cannon and letter "F" affixed to crown and oval leather emblem sewn to front. The metallic "bullion" emblem has the letters "US" within a wreath, encircled by a roped border. The brass buttons securing the chin strap have raised letters reading "CG". A few scattered moth holes of no consequence; otherwise, in very good condition. Sold together with a carved wood head of a man with sideburns, for display purposes.
