    Cavalry Officer's Dress Helmet.

    Size 7 helmet with label of maker, M. C. Lilley of Columbus, Ohio. Yellow horsehair plume, gold braided cords front & back. Together with gold shoulder cord with two waffles and tassels. Comes with linked-chain chin strap sewn to velvet strip of fabric (needs re-threading in places). Circa 1870s. Minimal defects. The Bill Bentham Collection
