    British Flintlock Brass Barrel Blunderbuss C. 1770. 34" overall with 18" brass barrel, the muzzle flaring to 1 5/16". Gun is overall completely untouched. British proofs at the breech along with ring turnings and scroll engraving. Convex face lock with scroll engraving and round face goose neck hammer. Mechanically fine. All brass fittings including elegant scroll engraved full side plate, trigger guard with acorn finial and floral/ scroll engraving, elaborate wrist escutcheon with arms panoplies, and scroll engraved 4" butt plate extension. Brass ramrod pipes engraved at the tail. Stock excellent with rather long slender wrist and nice rich patina. The brass tipped wooden ramrod is a replacement. Very fine example from this early period.
