    Brass Barrel British F/L Blunderbuss C. 1770. Exceptional example. 29" overall with 13¾" brass barrel with 1 5/16" bore at the muzzle. Ring/cannon turnings at the muzzle and 2" back from the muzzle. Barrel also with ring turnings 4½" from the breech as well as on the breech. British proofs placed high on the breech. Engraved "London" in script on top of the barrel with flame like scroll engraving at the breech. Barrel tang and lock also with scroll engraving. Lock is convex with pointed tail marked Hall. All brass furniture. Trigger guard with acorn finial and floral engraving. Elaborate wrist escutcheon with fan like finial at top. The 4" butt plate extension also scroll engraved. Elaborate scroll like side plate with several piercings. English walnut stock very fine with noticeable "drop" on the butt and nice smooth patina. Large relief carved panel at the barrel tang. Just one small chip at the toe of the butt with small bend in the butt plate at that point, minor. Mechanically perfect All brass with nice patina and retains the original horn tipped ramrod.
