    Description

18th Century All Steel Scottish Ram's Horn Butt F/L Belt Pistol. Striking example for both condition and decoration. 11½" overall with 7 1/8" .58 caliber barrel that is fluted for 1¾" at the breech, then round, terminating in a 1¼" flared octagonal section at the muzzle. All metal smooth and clean with absolutely no repairs or restoration. Every surface covered with elaborate scroll engraving of various depths and form. Really stunning. Signed "John Campbell" on the lock. Classic ram's horn butt inlayed with oval silver panels on both sides. The brass vent pick, although a perfect fit, is possibly a period replacement. Ball trigger, round faced hammer. 3½" steel belt hook with elaborately pierced and engraved mounting bracket. Really a wonderful Scottish pistol.
