Württemberg Reserve Officers' Spiked Helmet. 10 ½-inches tall, black leather trimmed in gilded-brass. Featuring a 5 ¼-inch spike atop a gilded-brass cruciform base secured to the helmet with four star-hear retainers. Impressive gilded-brass Württemberg front plate with separately applied reservists' cross. Two extra holes in the front. Gilded-brass chinscales and rosettes. Retains both cockades. Gilded-brass spine running the length of the back of the helmet. 2-inch leather sweatband and silk head lining. Marked by hand size "56 ½". There is evidence that this helmet has been restored either contemporarily or at a later time as evidenced by the two additional holes in the front of the helmet body and additional holes for a slightly different size cruciform base.

Condition: Very good to excellent as restored and refreshed. The surface leather is without significant wear and the gilt remains bright on all trim. With modest crazing on the visor as is typical. From the collection of J. T. Hamrick, M.D.

You reach a customer base that is in many ways completely unknown to the major auction houses, and your marketing to this base is as professional as one could hope for. As I continue to wind down my holdings.
