    Württemberg Model 1897 Officers' Spiked Helmet (Pickelhaube). Black lacquered leather body and visors, the front visor trimmed in brass. 4½" tall spike on a cruciform base mounted to the body with four star-head studs. Brass Württemberg front plate mounted to the helmet body with two threaded posts and nuts. Proper Württemberg and Reich's cockades. Leather-backed slightly convex brass chinscales. Nine-finger leather lining. Helmet is marked size 57. Some crazing and minor marring to the leather surfaces; top of helmet body slightly dented in; one nut missing from the front plate but no additional holes are drilled, a handsome example in very good condition.
