    Very Scarce, Superb Untouched Condition, Regulation Circa 1880 U.S. Marine Corps Kepi. Fine quality blue wool standing 2 1/2" high at front. Tarred visor with heavy tarred cloth stitched edging. Functional 5/8" tarred leather chinstrap with Albert ___ Marine Corps side buttons. Silvered, heavy Marine Corps eagle/ globe/ anchor insignia, with eagles talons resting on top of globe, attached at front with long wire fasteners. 1 1/2" brown leather sweat band showing just minor use and retaining small paper size tag. Black polished cotton lining with black polished cotton draw string head liner. Kepi is overall about mint, just showing very minor use and completely untouched, as issued. Very scarce piece of regulation U.S. military headgear in superb condition.
