14th Air Force Combat Photographer Uniform

WWII 14th Army Air Force Combat Photographer Service Jacket. A standard U.S. Army enlisted service jacket, size 38L, manufactured by Berkay Clothes, Inc., on a contract dated July 10, 1942. No identification is present other than a laundry number, B-2397, stamped on the inside cotton twill lining near the neck. There is an online database of laundry numbers, so with some persistence it may be able to determine the owner. The jacket has wool staff sergeant's sleeve insignia and is complete with all collar insignia. What makes this, in all other respects standard issue jacket, remarkable are the fantastic bullion patches. Besides a nice bullion CBI insignia on the upper left sleeve, the jacket features a rather unique bullion 14th Air Force patch with a bullion "COMBAT FILM" arc. The lower right sleeve displays a bullion Photography specialist insignia. An exceptionally detailed silver bullion wire winged camera is sewn above the left breast pocket. Additionally, the jacket has ribbon bars including those for a Presidential Unit Citation, Pacific-Asiatic Campaign medal, Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. All in all, a stunning array of insignia make this standard-issue jacket exceptional.

Condition: Excellent. A few very small moth holes, otherwise in very nice condition.
