    Imperial Russian Cavalry Officers' Tunic. A handsome tunic, double breasted with stand-up collar and made of off-white wool twill, piped along the front seam, tail, cuffs and collar in yellow wool cord. The front of the tunic has twelve gilt hollow-backed buttons bearing Romanov eagles and with a Petersburg maker's mark on the reverse of each. The tail of the tunic is likewise piped in yellow and adorned with four gilt buttons. The wide shoulder boards bear the gilt wire cypher of Czar Nicholas II directly embroidered on the lace backing. Small single stars are on each board wiiths holes for another star present. The shoulder boards are likewise piped in yellow cord and affixed via two silver buttons. The interior is piped in a light cotton fabric with a single pocket on the left side. There are no tailor's marks or any identification present. The tunic is in excellent condition with little sign of use. It is unknown what era this tunic was tailored, perhaps in the interwar years and worn by an exiled Russian officer.
