    Massachusetts 2nd Infantry Officer's Kepi, C. 1880. Blue wool body perfect with two bands of 1/8" black quatrefoil on crown surrounded by single band. Two vertical bands at each side and back and two bands around lower section of the hat. Gold bullion embroidered crossed rifles with numeral 2 on front showing some minor wear, else the hat is overall about perfect. 1/2" tarred leather chinstrap with Massachusetts side buttons. Short, unbound tarred leather visor. 1 1/4" black leather sweatband showing no signs of wear. Black silk lining also perfect. An exceptionally nice Indian Wars officer's kepi.
