    Description

Superb Union Enlisted Mans "Bummers Cap". Probably the most recognizable of all pieces of Civil War headgear. This example all original and complete with 1 3/8-inch leather sweatband, buckle, brown polished-cotton lining, chinstrap, visor, and U.S. eagle side buttons. This was the hat most of the enlisted men in the Union army wore and because of their extensive usage, very few have survived. An attractive representative example of this iconic piece of Civil War Federal headgear.

Condition: Very good. Scattered light mothing and the expected crazing to the leather elements, wear to the sweatband and a bit dusty from storage.
