    Prussian (Hannover) Model 1895 Fusilier Regiment Nr. 73 Officers' Spiked Helmet. Measuring about 9-inches tall with a polished leather skull and visors. The front visor is trimmed in gilded-brass; the rear visor untrimmed. The Prussian eagle front plate bears the "Peninsula" and "Waterloo" banners distinctive to the 73rd Fusilier regiment. The plate is held to the body via two threaded posts and square nuts and washers. There are no additional holes in the front. A gilded-brass spine runs from the spike base to the edge of the rear visor. A 4-inch tall spike is mounted to a round base held to the helmet by four star-head threaded studs held by four square-head nuts. Flat gilt chin scales are held by rosettes retaining both the appropriate cockades. The helmet is complete with the 2-inch wide leather sweatband and split silk lining. The underside of the front visor is lined with green morocco leather; the rear visor lined with red morocco. The crown is marked size "55" in pencil.
