    Gen. Alvin Voris 67th Ohio Volunteers Archive.
    Group of items related to Brevet Major General Alvin Coe Voris (1827-1904) of Akron, Ohio, who commanded the 67th Ohio during the war. He was wounded at Winchester, Virginia on March 22, 1862. The unit fought at Seven Days, Fort Wagner, Siege of Charleston, Drury's Bluff and Petersburg. The collection includes: a post-war black felt slouch hat with US-within-a-wreath hat badge, a 7.5" x 10" mounted albumen (with faults) captioned "Old Virginia Battle ground of A. C. Voris", an 8" x 10" mounted photograph captioned "Reunion 67th Ohio Vols. Sept. 3, 1903.", a group of twelve family-member photos (1866-1900), an 1849 Methodist prayer book that contains a red-stripe fragment of a Civil War-era flag, a small crystal glass inkwell, a pair of Civil War-era hide gauntlets with five G.A.R. brass clothing buttons, a pair of bone spoons, an ornate G.A.R. encampment badge issued for the 1898 meeting held in Cincinnati, a 4.5" x 2.5" hand mirror, a 2.5" x 5" swatch of Voris's military jacket along with a well-worn large cent, housed in an envelope that is inscribed: "A piece of the General's last tunic worn by him. Also a coin dated 1827, the year of the General's birth, carried by the General through childhood and the war of the Rebellion.
