    Description

    Exceptional Civil War Union Army Artillery Shell Jacket. A twelve-button Union Army artillery shell jacket in excellent condition. All original red piping on front, cuffs and collar. Body of jacket is line with blue wool. Sleeves are lined in white cotton. Right inside sleeve-lining is ink stamped "F. H. SHAFER / U.S. / INSP. CIN" with hand penciled "3" in each sleeve. Buttons back marked "Scoville & Co. Extra".

    Condition: Excellent. The thread is brittle on select seams, otherwise a very nice example for display.
