    Description

Thomas Moffet 3rd NY Calvary ID Disc.
One of the most beautiful and scarcest ID styles "In the War of 1861, 2 & 3 & 4, Union". This brass 30mm disc displays an American eagle with its silver wash still visible makes this one of more attractive ID disks we have encountered. In the "Maier Book of ID Discs" it is listed as "Extremely Rare". Moffet enlisted on 9/10/62 and fought in over 50 battles and skirmishes. On the reverse it reads "Thomas Moffet CO. M 3rd N.Y. Cav Port Hope C.W." A fantastic example.
