    General Robert E. Lee: Carte de Visite, Currier & Ives Engraved Portrait and a Copy of General Orders No. 3 Appointing Lee as General in Chief of the Armies of the Confederate States. Comprising: 1.) Albumen CDV featuring a bust portrait of Lee in uniform. No studio back mark on the reverse. 2.) Currier & Ives engraved bust portrait of Lee in uniform. 11 ¼ x 16-inches. With a printed title and facsimile of Lee's signature. 3.) Contemporary copy of General Order No. 3 issued in Richmond, February 6, 1865, appointing Lee as General in Chief of the Confederate armies. 4 ¾ x 7-inches. Matted.

    Condition: 1.) Good. Image slightly faded; corners clipped. 2.) Paper with some light toning; mat burn framing the image and with an occasional trivial light foxing and spotting. 3.) Good. Toning, light foxing and scattered stains.
