    Civil War US Navy Officer's Visored Cap Bearing the Rank Insignia of Master. Blue wool body stands 3" high and in perfect condition. Blue wool rank insignia patch on front with gold bullion wreath surround a diagonally placed brass fouled anchor. 1/2" band of gold bullion tape extends around the back of the hat from side button to side button. 5/8" leather chinstrap with brass buckle and leather loop with M1852 US Navy side buttons. Oilcloth bound tarred leather visor. Interior with 1 1/2" brown leather sweatband, blue silk lining quilted in the crown, just showing minor honest wear else perfect. An exceptional example of a very scarce Civil Navy US officer's cap.
