    Civil War Staff & Field Officers' Kepi. Fine quality blue wool body with three bands of quatrefoil on the crown, along with three bands at the front, back, sides, and the base of the crown. Bullion wire Staff officer's insignia hand-sewn to the front. Tarred leather chinstrap with leather adjusting loops and Staff & Field Officer side buttons. Bound, tarred leather visor. 1 ¼-inch high brown leather sweat band. Black or deep brown polished cotton lining. A nice example of this popular and desirable form of Civil War U.S. officer's headgear.

    Condition: Very good. Bill has been re-stitched to the base of the hat; chinstrap broken and detached; one side button detached but present; small areas of scattered mothing; leather sweatband torn at the back.
