[Sherman's March to the Sea]. Herschel V. Johnson Autograph Letter Signed. Two pages (1 and 3) of a bifolium, 7.75" x 9.75". Augusta, Georgia; February 15, 1867. A letter to historian Alfred Thomas Goodman in response to a letter requesting autographs of notables. Lightly toned, with mat burn along right margin and mounting remnant on verso along integral fold. Tiny rust stains at top, otherwise very clean with bold ink and highly legible script.
