    Description

    Winchester Second Model 1873 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 81476, .44 caliber, 20-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and rear ladder sight. Nickel-plated finish. Saddle ring. Walnut stock and fore-end. Carbine butt with cleaning rod reservoir. No cleaning rod present. Manufactured in 1881. From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.
    Condition: Fair. Retaining traces of nickel plated finish over an original blue. The balance a dark brown age patina with scattered patches of wear, pitting and staining. Some screws marred or replaced. Wood showing scuffs, dents and bruising. Noticeable wood loss to edges and left side of fore-end. Minor wood loss to right side of stock at wrist. Pitting to buttplate. Action is good. Dark pitted bore.
