    Description

    Winchester Second Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 82781, .44-40 caliber, 26-inch round barrel with standard front sight and aftermarket rear elevation sight. Dust cover rail held in place by screws. Varnished walnut stock and fore-end. Crescent butt with cleaning rod reservoir. No cleaning rod present. Manufactured in 1882.

    Condition: Fair to good. Metal showing a dark brown age patina with scattered light pitting, dents and scratches. Dust cover missing. Some screws marred or replaced. Lever safety with small alteration. Bore with strong lands but heavily pitted and dark. Wood with wear, dents and bruises. Action good.
