    Description

    Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle.
    Serial no. 797176, 44 WCF, 24 1/2-inch round barrel with front and rear sights. Blued finish with walnut stocks. Barrel address and patent dates on left side of barrel. Crescent style buttplate. Manufactured in 1915. Research and quotes with the help of Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms. Approximately 165,432 made between 1892-1941. According to Flayderman's, The Winchester Model 1892 was designed as a modern successor to the Model 1873, with the same chambering of 32, 38 and 44 WCF.

    Property of a Northern California Gentleman.

    Condition: Good with some strong bluing elements to frame, the balance gray with areas cleaned. Barrel appears to have been refinished at some point. Very faint markings of barrel address and patent dates present. Stocks with bumps, mars, cleaned and possibly sanded, fore-end possibly replaced. Both fore-end and buttstock have slight fitting imperfections. Action good. Bore ok, rifling strong but with some light pitting.
