    Description

    U.S. Springfield Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle.
    Serial no. 159173. .30-40 Krag. 30-inch barrel with fixed front sight and Model 1898 rear sight. Metal parts blued; receiver casehardened. Left side of receiver marked "U.S. / MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 159173". Walnut stock and hand guard. Circle "P" firing proof in the underside of the stock but displays no other cartouches. Metal buttplate with trap door for the cleaning rod.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 65-75% original blue and some traces of case color on the receiver. Stock exhibits modest wear. The bore is a bit dark and the rifling is slightly worn. Mechanically sound.
