    Description

    U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Carbine. Serial no. 124751, .45-70 caliber, 22-inch barrel with military sights. Low-arch breech marked: U.S./Model/1873. Lock is marked: [eagle]U.S./Springfield. Blued and case-hardened finish. Walnut stock with saddle ring. Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 40-50% blue finish, the balance a mottled gray-brown patina. Traces of case colors on breech and tang. Stock retains most of an older revarnish. Small chip at toe. Strong bright bore with scattered fine patches of pitting.
