DescriptionU.S. Springfield 1873 Trapdoor Saddle Ring Carbine.
Serial no. 21028, .45-70 caliber, 22-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued finish. Breechblock marked: MODEL / 1873 / (eagle head) / US. Saddle ring. (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD / 1873 to lock. Smooth walnut straight stock with swivel. Metal carbine butt marked: U.S. / 9 / N.G.C.
Condition: Very good. Finish a bright grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
