    U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle. Serial no. 527575, 45-70 caliber, 32 5/8-inch barrel with fixed front and Buffington rear sights. Blued finish with casehardened breechblock and tang. Lock with usual markings [eagle]/U.S./SPRINGFIELD; breech marked U.S./Model/1884. Walnut stock with two barrel bands, two sling swivels and one stacking swivel. Rod bayonet. Buttplate marked U.S. Stock with crisp 1891 dated cartouche and circle "P" firing proof. Condition: Excellent. Retaining 90-95% plum brown finish. Stock with a few light scratches. Cosmoline in bore, but the bore appears bright.
