    U.S. L. Pomeroy 1840 Percussion Rifle with Bayonet.

    Unserialized, approximately .70 caliber, 41-inch barrel with fixed front sight and bayonet lug. Lock marked: 1840 / US and (eagle) / L. POMEROY. Left side of barrel stamped: U.S. / J.C.B. circled P. Upper tang dated 1841. Smooth walnut full-body stock with sling swivels and three barrel bands. Metal ramrod and U.S. marked buttplate. 18-inch socket bayonet with leather scabbard.

    Condition: Very good. finish a bright grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood. Action crisp. Lightly pitted bore.
