    Unmarked American Side by Side Percussion Rifle/Sbotgun C. 1850 Round damascened 32 3/8" barrels, rifled .49 caliber right barrel with .16 gauge shotgun barrel on the left, with wide flat rib in between. Notch rear sight, pin front sight on rounded base, also a folding rear peep sight. 6" barrel tang, German silver band on shotgun breech, band on the rifle breech has worn off. Walnut stock with round brass 'toilet seat' patch/cap box, German silver trigger guard, wear plate and entry pipe. Number of small inlays, one German silver, the rest brass, held in place by small brads. Engraved hammers and back action locks. Gun shows overall honest wear with untouched patina. There is an old repaired crack through the wrist utilizing three screw brass straps. Wood with come scattered dents and a small crack near toe. Likely New York state. Good representative example of a scarce form.
