    U. S. Hall Model 1836 Breech-Loading Percussion Carbine. No visible serial number, .64 caliber smoothbore, 23-inch round barrel. Top of breech marked J. H. Hall/ U.S./ 1837. Early production with implement compartment on the underside of the butt. Walnut stock , two barrel bands and complete with the rare ramrod style bayonet. Metal buttplate. Retains the eyebolt inset through the center of the wrist which acts as a sling ring. Flayderman indicates that 2,020 examples were made at Harpers Ferry Armory making surviving examples rare indeed. Condition: Very good. Metal with a mottled brown patina in remarkable condition, exhibiting little abuse. Mechanically crisp. Stock with the usual scratches, dings and bruises. Bright bore.
