    Spencer Model 1865 Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 128??, .50 rimfire caliber, 20-inch barrel with 6-groove rifling. Top of breech marked M.1865. Stabler cutoff. Iron mountings, case-hardened receiver, buttplate and barrel bands. Walnut stock. Condition: Good. Barrel a light gray-brown patina with scattered spotting. Case-hardening has faded to silver gray. Patches of pitting on both sides of receiver. Bore is good with scattered patches of light pitting. Stock has been lightly sanded and shows mostly honest handling wear. Moderate to heavy dents in forearm. Magazine tube absent. Action functions.
