    U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle.
    Serial no. 545906, .45-70 Caliber, 32 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable sight. Blued finish. V/P/[eaglehead] proof to left side of barrel. Lock marked: (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth walnut stock with sling swivels, stacking swivel and metal ramrod / tool. 1892 dated cartouche to left side of stock. U.S. marked metal butt.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 20-30% of a thinning finish with signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Minor scuffs and dings to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
