    Description

    U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle. Serial no. 398266, .45 caliber, 32 5/8-inch barrel with hooded front sight and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened breechblock, tang and hammer. Lock with U.S. Springfield and American eagle. Smooth walnut stock with swivel mounts and ramrod. Leather sling. Carbine buttplate marked US. From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.
    Condition:Very good. Finish primarily a grey-blue age patina with scattered wear and light pitting. Rust to rear sight. Wood showing dents, scuffs and bruising. Leather with handling wear and cracking. Action is good. Bore is good.
