    U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle with Bayonet.
    Serial no. 384085, .45-70 caliber, 32 1/2-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Breechblock marked: U.S. / MODEL / 1884. Lock with eagle and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. V / P/ (eagle head) / P proofs to left side of barrel. Walnut stock with two barrel bands, two sling swivels and stacking swivel. 59 stamped on top of stock. US marked buttplate. US marked socket bayonet and scabbard.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 30-40% of a thinning finish with with scattered wear and surface rust. Wood showing scuffs, dings and bruising. Ramrod absent. Action good. Strong bore. Noticeable pitting to bayonet and scabbard.
