    U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Military Rifle. Serial no. 11350, .45-70 caliber, 32-inch barrel with standard pedestal front sight and Buffington rear ladder type sight. Low-arch case-hardened breechblock dated 1884. Lockplate marked: U.S. Springfield [with eagle]. Walnut stock with two barrel bands. Sling mounts. Stacking swivel. Unmarked military style leather sling. Steel ramrod. Condition: Good. Metal showing a dark age patina and scattered light pitting on triggerguard and buttplate. Small hairline crack in back of lock mechanism. Wood sanded and refinished. Action good. Bore smooth, but worn.
