    Description

    U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Saddle Ring Carbine.
    Serial no. 378425, .45-70 caliber, 22-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued finish. Saddle ring. Receiver marked: (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth walnut straight stock with front sling swivel. U.S. marked metal carbine butt.
    Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

    Condition: Good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with noticeable handling wear and patches of pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
